My guess would be Trade-A-PlaneBob B.BTW I recently flew behind a 4 stroke rotax with a three blade groundadjustable prop. This is one smooth runnung quiet engine.

This is just hearsay, butI understand that the 0-145 doesn't have the samepower as an A-65. The A-65 does have 23 more cu in so it probably producesit's power at a lower rpm than the 0-145. The 0-145 just doesn't performas well. The bigger issue is the availability of parts. These were not popularengines and finding things like jugs, cams, lifters, etc is quitedifficult. In my opinion, if you have a line on a running 0-145 and the price isgood. Go for it. You can always switch to an A-65 or other Cont down theroad by just building a new mount. If the engine needs work, just walkaway and find an a-65 instead. I know that this is vague, but there was a recent article (June or later?) on a little yellow and grey biplane (the name Rose Parakeet comes to mind) that was powered by this engine. There was a bit of a description on it inthe article. I think it was Sport aviation and it may have been on thecover. Greg,Have a friend that has one, and friends who have had them on Champs. They say they are very reliable but....heavy..and underpowered. Seemsthe hp that they are rated at is faster than you can spin a prop. sowhen they run at normal speed, they are weaker than Cont 65.walt -----Original Message-----

The O-145 is the Lycoming 65hp engine and it does not put out the poweran A-65 delivers. It doesn't have the torque. Most of these engine werereplaced by Continentals in production aircraft years ago. Lycoming hasnot made parts for them in years and parts are hard to come by.John Langston__________________________________________________________________________________________
