I have a Piet with a Continental C-85 with Bendix S4LN-21 mags. Onestopped working so I decided to pull it out. I think the shorter one is for the secondary if I rememberright. The best way to check is with an ohmmeter; the primary windingswill only have about 300 to 500 or so ohms resistance whereas thesecondary will have around 5,000 or so. Measure with the ohmmeter fromground to the respective lead. The primary lead will connect to thepoints and the secondary to the distributer.
