Pietenpol-List: Colors

I realize there is the risk that my earlier message about flying in shirtsleeves might create a boycott on answering my questions. But, I could helpit.I really enjoy reading the thoughtful answers given here. I am looking forsuggested paint schemes. I think I decided on Silver wings and HStab. Thefront part of the fuselage will be natural wood. The cowling will bebrushed aluminum. I was thinking about making the rear fuselage somethinglike a maroon color. Something from the 30s. I am open to suggestions. Mymain question is about all the metal fittings. Would you blend them in withthe surroundings or make a contrasting color?I know this is subjective, but I am looking for ideas. Thanks.Ted________________________________________________________________________________Date: Wed, 19 Feb 2003 00:01:52 -0800

Ted there is a great program on the UK Piet site. Chris Tracys MS paintprogram. It allows you to play with your paint scheme before you commit. It uses 3 basic engine models, Model A, A65 and Corvair. I found it veryuseful.http://www.flyerworld.com/shenty/ukairc ... .htmKenGN1 2992-----Original Message-----

How about solid red with white sunburst on wing and tail? Where would you park it?________________________________________________________________________________

Not familiar with N77CG. Is there a picture of it anywhere so that when I eventually get to Brodhead I'll know where to park?________________________________________________________________________________

I'm not senior enough to be able to assign parking places. Maybe you need to talk to Jack -- he was assigning me to be next to N77CG. ----- Original Message -----
