I started to lay out a test procedure but it got totally out of hand inshort order when I tried to cover every possible eventuality. The processisn't really all that complicated but there are a BUNCH of details thatcould cause the test to include or exclude certain loading conditions. Doyou guys have a picture (to start) of the parts the bolt holds and where itis in the control system. Once I have that I can figure out exactly whatloading conditions are needed to demonstrate a positive safety margin. Thetest itself should only involve some levers and a scale applied to somesteel plates to load the bolt and simulate the loading conditions in theplane. Every test is a little different, but not complicated. The testshould be able to apply a 200% load without even making the bolt break asweat (at least everything else BP designed seems overbuilt that way).Hank----- Original Message -----
