>> Hello everybody. I was able to work out my problem in a ratherunconventional way. It seems that the Tampa FSDO was extremely helpfulafter all. I , as some of you remember, had been told I was required tomake a 8 hr round trip to Tampa FSDO to be "interviewed" and signed off formy repair man certificate. This after I payed a DAR $400 to inspect myplane. When I asked why this was happening and relayed that my adjoiningFSDO (Atlanta) was not requiring this, I was told "because our manual " sayswe do it his way. Paraphrased of course. Well I've been on a tirade fortwo weeks about the inconsistent application of FAR requirements, use ofDARs, bureacracy, the weather, anything else I could bitch about. As itturned out a very helpful person from the FAA arranged a meeting at a thrirdlocation nearer my fair city. We exchanged my drivers license ( I proved Iam who I am) for the official FAA sign off and I now possess a repairman'scertificate for NX327BC without having to drive to Tampa for the 2 minute -26 second ordeal. I might add that they WERE helpful after all - once Icomplained and showed my rear end.So as you all approach your inspections, contact your FSDO and talk withthem. They are (or can be) very helpful.I practiced high speed (how high speed can you get in a Grega/Piet) taxiingtoday till I got tired of it. At one point she got tired of the ground anddecided to take off. No surprises. I simply pulled power kept directionalcontrol with the rudder and let her settle right in on all three. I amamazed at how stable the Grega is. With the wide landing gear, it's justNOT a problem on the ground or during transition. The Piet I have flown hada narrower gear and was way more squirrely.Well happy New Year everybody - Talk next year!Bert http://bconoly.tripod.com/>>___________ ... __________
