Tim; I believe the "Jim Wills wing" is the built-up spar design that the UK authoritiesapproved and that is used by most/all of the UK builders. It is a boxspar with top and bottom spar caps, a plywood shear face, and filler piecesat the tip, root, and lift strut attach points as well as having vertical stiffenersalong the length of it. The beauty of it is that it can be built at muchlower cost than solid or routed spars, using shorter pieces of wood. It isprobably lighter as well. The designer has been unwilling to sell plans for the spar into the US, I guess for liability reasons.
