At an airport about 90 minutes from here, there is a Piet sitting in the hangarwith a really, really nice fiberglass (sacrilege!) cowl. The glass work is toogood for me to believe it was a one-off. I took some pics but am having cameraproblems and can't download them right at the moment, but maybe I can describeit. Oh, and no the owner does not know who made it but believes the personhas since passed away.It has a nicely rounded air inlet below the spinner with three tubular verticalsupports fitted internally. The top has a pleasant compound curvature that blendsinto the hub opening perfectly. The carb intake area is almost a form fit,and the cowl to either side tapers away directly from the hub opening. Worddon't do as well as pictures do they? But with this mediocre description, does anyone have an idea about the origins? There can't be too many people that have made molds for a complete Piet cowlassembly.I made a crude sketch from memory on AutoCAD and put it in jpeg format, attached.Mike D.--------Piet-builder-who-hopes-to-be-flying-next-summerRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ttachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/piet ... __________
