My airplane is no award-winner, doesnothave perfectly matching hardware throughout, does not exhibit perfect conformancewithAC43-13B throughout, has not been washed thoroughly in several years, tends toweep alittle oil here and there, but is flown every week and provides pilot and passengerwithexperiences that cannot be equalled. I let children and adults climb in and outof itand tell them not to worry... there's nothing they can hurt in the cockpit. Thereare noelectronics for thieves to steal out of it, no hand-rubbed paint job to worry aboutscratching, and bugs are welcome on the leading edges. To those building, if you'reshootingfor a personal best or some trophies, by all means take your time and fulfill thatdesire. But if you want to fly and have fun, don't sweat the small stuff. Do your bestbut don'tworry if everything doesn't come out exactly precisely like so-and-so's airplaneand believe me,nobody will notice anyway.I took a flight out to Cannon Field (following Larry's lead) and put up a few pixatthis page: http://www.flysquirrel.net/piets/Cannon.html especially for Corky.Only problem I had, I've pretty much grounded the airplane until I can replacethestarboard main tire and tube. The tread grooves are worn nearly through on thatside.Darn... too much flying, I guess?? The good news is that hangar neighbors gavemetwo new tires. That's right, "gave". They are 15-6.00x6s which are a bit smallerdiameter than the 6.00x6s that I now have, but what the heck... the look isn'tquiteas good as what I have now but these are 6 ply tires and have nice, deep grooves.I just need some new tubes now...Oscar ZunigaSan Antonio, TXmailto: taildrags(at)hotmail.comwebsite at http://www.flysquirrel.net________________________________________________________________________________
