For those of you flying aircraft with NX- or NC- registration markings=2Cwhat is your radio call? "experimental November Xray one-two-threeBravo"=2C or just "experimental November one-two-three Bravo"? Inother words=2C do you use the "Xray" or "Charlie" in the radio call if youhave them on your fuselage markings?Oscar ZunigaAir Camper NX41CCSan Antonio=2C TXmailto: taildrags(at)hotmail.comwebsite at http://www.flysquirrel.net________________________________________________________________________________

If you call yourself "Experimental" when talking to Flight Service orATC, they won't automatically understand that your tail number is NX. They'll just assume you're an HXA, HXB, or HXC. If I answer the call,I'll want to know what type of Experimental I'm talking to. Also, forthe purposes of logging the contact, we should be told that you are a"November Xray One Two Three Fower", etc. That way, if anything everhappens to you, we can assist in the search. Specificity is critical tosafety, in my opinion.-Wayne BresslerDCA AFSSwww.GANation.comwww.taildraggersinc.comI have used "Experimental" before, but saying that immediately causesthe question "what type experimental?"> > Jack Phillips> NX899JP________________________________________________________________________________Date: Tue, 10 Feb 2009 10:52:16 -0600
