Sometimes when I see pictures of different peoples' projectsI get a bit sad or I feel like I've cut into the line and not paidmy dues to get in to the world of Pietenpols. I bought myPiet already complete and flying and although I've done plentyof rebuild and modification to it=2C I know I'm not the originalbuilder and I can't really swagger in to Brodhead like the restof you 100% scratch builders.I really admire all the excellent work that you folks do on yourairplanes and I know it brings you a great deal of satisfaction.Just going out to the airport every weekend and working atmaintaining and tweaking my Piet gives me more satisfactionthan almost anything else I do all week long at my job and athome. These last few weekends I've been working on squawksthat came up during annual condition inspection and it's morefun working on those than anything I can think of at work orat home. Redoing AN hardware to get it just a bit more correct=2Cretensioning conrol cables and safetying turnbuckles=2C adjustingtracking on the prop=2C cleaning plugs=2C scratching my head onhow to run a new tach cable without removing this cowling orthat one=2C lubing pulleys and pivots=2C you name it.It's really too bad we can't get paid for working on our airplanes=2Cisn't it? We'd be millionaires and all they'd have to pay us is afew bucks and we'd be happy!Oscar ZunigaAir Camper NX41CCSan Antonio=2C TXmailto: taildrags(at)hotmail.comwebsite at http://www.flysquirrel.net________________________________________________________________________________Date: Sun, 22 Feb 2009 21:19:53 -0500

OscarBuilt or bought, they are just as much fun to fly. Please don't suggest any dollar value on the satisfaction of flying your Piet, some idiot will want to find a way to tax the perceived value.Dick----- Original Message -----
