Over the past couple of years, there has been a few posts talking about using streamlinelift struts with a dimension of 1.78 x 1.06 x .049 from Wag Aero. Thereports were that Bill Rewey stated that this size was perfectly adequate fora Pietenpol. I was wondering if anyone has used struts in this size range orwould care to offer an opinion on the suitability for use. I belive you are talking about the mild steel streamline tubing. I am using itfor lift and cabane struts, but haven't finished or flown mine yet. Dwane Talba'ssilver and black Corvair and Jim Kinsella's A65 Piets both use mild steelstruts and I think Dwane's Piet is over 800 lbs.I believe they are suitable for a Piet.Skip----- Original Message -----
