Hi , interesting, this would be one of the few areas where Red Cedar could be used, as ribs are generally made of larger sized timber than is required for strength, due to ease of fastening gussets etc. Another area could be the wing leading edge and perhaps the aileron spars, however I am not advocating a change to a timber of lesser strength without a proper analysis of the structure.
