Well, there goes any plan of ever flying 41CC down toGuadalajara, Mexico.- They just passed a reg requiringthe new UHF ELTs (406mHz) and I'm going to resist installingone of those for as long as I can.Oscar ZunigaAir Camper NX41CCSan Antonio, TXmailto: taildrags(at)hotmail.comwebsite at http://www.flysquirrel.net --- -------- ------ --- - le, List Admin.=0A=0A=0A ________________________________________________________________________________

Understood Oscar and thanks. I will be checking out your pictures next. The few trim systems I have seen use a locking knob, so to speak, that the pilot loosens, moves the trim lever, then re-tightens.- I am designing a simple way so that a knob is not necessary...just the lever. I am thinking along the lines of detents...like the height adjustments on push lawn mowers.- If I put the lever on the left side, coming through the pilot seat, then the lever would need to be pulled into the pilot to release it from the detent, then moved for or aft to trim and released back into another detent. This way, if the pilot bumps the lever, it will be bumped into the detents and not out of them.- Once I get a good clean design made and working, I'll post pictures.=0A=0A=0A ________________________________________________________________________________Date: Sat, 3 Oct 2009 23:10:08 -0700 (PDT)

For the benefit of those who don't know Spanish, here is a rough translation of what he wrote:"Oscar, I hope that you keep flying and enjoying yourflights in your Piet.- I am almost completing thetail secion and I'll be starting some of the metalparts for the horns and cable attachments.- I wouldappreciate it very much if you could give me a betteridea of how to make a better version of the throttle. These are some pictures.- Thanks again; Jorge fromHanford, and I hope that when my Piet is ready to flyI can visit with all of you.- Thanks very much."Oscar ZunigaAir Camper NX41CCSan Antonio, TXmailto: taildrags(at)hotmail.comwebsite at http://www.flysquirrel.net --- -------- ------ --- - le, List Admin.=0A=0A=0A ________________________________________________________________________________Date: Sat, 3 Oct 2009 23:21:26 -0700 (PDT)

Gene,The skiis are borrowed from Frank Pavliga. I've used them the last two winters.I might be pushing it to borrow them again this winter! Frank bought the oldbottoms and made a pylon type of structure to fit. They really are fairlysimple and someday I intend to draw up some prints for them and make a set formyself. When I do I'll post them on here. Here is a closer shot of them...http://westcoastpiet.com/images/Don%20E ... 005.jpgDon EmchNX899DERead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: RE: Pietenpol-List: Thickness of spar?Date: Sat, 3 Oct 2009 22:31:01 -0400
