Welcome back Mike!To answer your questions:Mike Cuy does still sell his videos. Most guys seem to us T-88 epoxy. Some use West Systems but it is muchthinner and runs a lot. Resourcinol is a great old standby if you keep yourjoints tight. There are certainly others but these seem to be the biggiesCall your local FAA office and track down your areas inspector and contacthim/her. They tend to be very helpful and appreciate advance contact. Theycan send you their guidelines and paperwork. Basically however, keep lotsof documentation to prove you actually did the work yourself, and keep yourreceipts to show what materials you used. I didn't have to show any ofthese things, but each inspector is different. It really is a pretty simpleprocess. No inspection is required until you're finished. There are a lot of engine parts on barnstormers.com and always ck out othertype websites like flybaby and luscombe etc.Good luck!Douwe________________________________________________________________________________Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Six Pietenpols show up at last Saturday's TaylorcraftFly-In

Hey Don... Tyler (my son) sure does remember you, and the ride you gave him lastyear. He and Ryan ought to keep each other entertained. It will be great forhim to have someone his age to pal around with this year. Looking forward to seeing all of you next week!--------Mark ChouinardFinishing up Wings - Working on Center SectionRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

Subject: Pietenpol-List: tires and tubeshello all, I am in the process of changing out my 5.00--5 tires to 6.00-6 I ordered the new tires and tubes from spruce and got them today. the problem is the wheels I have need to have a 90 degree valve stem and the tubes they sent are straight stems.I was wondering if I could get by using the tubes out of my 5 inch tires if I can get them on the wheel. I wanted to get this done before the trip to brodhead with Jack. and if I have to wait to get the right ones ordered I might not have time to do it.or does any body know if there is a substitute tube that can be gotten locallyThanks,Randy BushNX294RB________________________________________________________________________________Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Piets in Texas

Pietenpol-List: Piets in Texas

There may be an opportunity here for anyone down this wayto see a few Piets. I'm talking about "Reklaw"... the fly-inat Flying M Ranch, Oct. 22-24, out in east Texas between Tylerand Nacogdoches:http://www.reklawflyin.com/We do things funny-like in Texas, so "Reklaw" is "Walker"spelled backwards. Don't ask me why. I'm thinking of flying41CC out there this year, and it's within striking distance ofa half-dozen other Piets and GN-1s in the TX-OK-LA area.Grass strip, down-home atmosphere, who could ask for more? There are two Piets down by Rockport/Corpus Christi, a couple morehere in central Texas, and a couple more in NE Texas or its suburbs(Oklahoma ;o)- it might make a nice assembly of Air Campers.Oscar ZunigaAir Camper NX41CCSan Antonio, TXmailto: taildrags(at)hotmail.comwebsite at http://www.flysquirrel.net _________________________________________________________________Hotmail has tools for the New Busy. Hard drives, DVDs, routers.I promise... I'll bring it back soon.--------Mark ChouinardFinishing up Wings - Working on Center SectionRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

Great stories. My kids are all adult now but I took them to Oshkosh when theywere young. We flew in in a Mooney and camped under the wing. We had to keepthem on a leash to be sure they didn't wander where they should not be. My daughterstill talks about some of our trips as being real high points of her growingup. I hope I have the chance to take my grand kids or my partners grandkids up in the GN-1. I don't know, however, some of the younger generationparents are pretty protective.Jon Coxwell--------Jon Coxwell GN-1 BuilderRecycle and preserve the planetRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Re: Six Pietenpols show up at last Saturday's TaylorcraftFly-I

I have many fond memories of brodhead fly-in's with my grandpa, made it to quitea few in the late 80's early 90's, it's even where I "flew by myself" for thefirst time! At the Pietenpol flyin none the less, grandpa used to have the quansenhut(sp?) hanger up there for many years too, really hoping to make it nextyearSent from my iPhoneOn Jul 16, 2010, at 6:06 PM, "coxwelljon" wrote:> > Great stories.
