Gardiner, you may wish you had a primer in addition to the accelerator pumpof the Marvel Schebler. My RV-4 has a Marvel Schebler carburetor, and noprimer. Jack I agree with you about the primer. It squirts the gas right in the intakeport and makes for less work on the starter or proper man. Also less likely tohave a carb fire. I was trying to hand prop a Cessna 140 I had years ago. Itwas cold and the starter wouldn't turn it over because it was so cold. It hadno primer but pumped the throttle. It sort of spit back and the carb and aid filtercaught fire......no fire extinguisher. The only damage was requiring a newair filter.
