I dont know of any piets that have an A75 besides Oscar. I was wondering whatprop we should install to pull our A75 so if anybody out there is running an A75I would be curious to hear your input.Thanks--------Fred KimPittsburgh, PaRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

Don't let the streamlined control horns scare you. They are actually pretty easyto fabricate. Thin sheet metal is not difficult to shape, and once the hornsare welded, they become incredibly stiff. To make the horns out of flat aluminum, the thickness would likely need to be 3/16" or 1/4" to result in a comparablerigidity. And then, you would need to add bolted connections for the flangesand bracing. For sure, the aluminum horns would be heavier than the steel,per-the-plans horns. If the thing that is making you hesitate is the need to weld .030" steel, practiceon a bunch of scrap until you feel confident, or just get a more experiencedwelder to do that welding for you.Like Dan said, once you have them made, and someone asks where you got them, youcan state with pride that you made them yourself.Bill C.Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Continental A75 Piets

My Piet runs an A-75 and the current prop has been on this engine for about 15years. Had it redone last spring and is an excellent combination for this engine.Contact me offline and I will send you the numbers when I get a chance to go tothe airport.--------Adrian MWinnipeg, MBCanadaRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

Fred Hi.I had a Corben Junior, a similar size and weight to a Pietenpol at UAW of 650 pounds,Gross 950.The A75-8 had a 72" X 46" wooden Prop and performed OK. Cruise at 85mph at 2200rpm.I never got the 2600 maximum RPM for 75hp regardless of the pitch I tried. Couldwell have been a 'tired' engine. That engine is being completely overhauled and I'm going to chance using a Flottorp72 X 50 that came with another project. It may well be I have to defer back to 72 X 46 but worth a try.RegardsGerry________________________________________________________________________________Date: Mon, 21 Jan 2013 13:46:33 +0000 (UTC)
