John,I doubt an automotive oil temp bulb would have the right fittings to fitinto the oil screen assembly, but it might. I think the oil screen assemblyhas a 5/8-18 thread. If the automotive temp bulb has the same size threadit should work. On mine I just bought one from ACS, with a 72" capillarytube and it worked fine.Jack PhillipsNX899JPSmith Mountain Lake, Virginia _____

John,I bought an automotive oil press/temp gauge set from Auto Zone and the fittingsthat came with it adapted to the 5/8-18 thread on the oil screen just fine. I even ran the engine, low power only, and it did not leak. Problem is the capillarytube did not reach to my rear cockpit. I ended up buying one from Wag-Aero(A-007-000) and the 5' tube reaches with no problem.--------David GallagherZodiac 601 XL-B: flying, 250+ hours nowNext project under construction: Finish my father's AircamperRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

Dave; The Begich Middle School students there in Anchorage have an Aerial project thatthey are working on (St. Croix' biplane adaptation of the Air Camper). I thinkRob Stapleton was the guy who put that together, but I don't know for sure.Since school is out for the summer, I'm not sure who you might try, but itmight be interesting.--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 powerRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ______Date: Thu, 27 Jun 2013 12:28:54 -0500Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Oil Temp Bulb and Capillary
