Hi - Here are a few photos of progress on the rebuild. Also one of me & Shelleyin front of Gary's airplane from June. Thanks to Gary for letting me fly it.We attended the West Coast Piet gathering & had a great time.A couple of things not apparent from the photos: the engine ran at Corvair College24 last November, the fuel tank is done, and I bought a beautifully craftedengine mount from William Wynne which is sitting in the garage ready for installation.Today is the one year anniversary of the accident. We're blessed beyond belief. My personal recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. The support fromthis group has been extraordinary. Many of you have been extremely generousand helpful and we appreciate it. Shelley's mentioned we won't make Brodhead this year due to work commitments. We tried, I promise. We'll do our best next year. In the meantime, know thatwe're with you in spirit and give each other hugs for us.Thank you for your love and friendship.--------Kevin "Axel" PurteeRebuilding NX899KPAustin/San Marcos, TXRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ttachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/piet ... ___Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Update/Progress

Saturday is very busy with lots and lots going on. I'd say not a ton of folksleave sat, in fact, many don't even like oshkosh, and most of the planes don'tfly up there (it's not a super friendly nordo event...).Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Update/Progress

If you want it you have to carry it. We wouldcarefully consider each item. Playing cards were cut in half. Toilet paperwas taken off of the roll (Cardboard adds up). Full sized sleeping mats werecut down so that they just fit under your torso, three foot long and 15 incheswide. Unless it was dangerous cold, no sleeping bag, just a poncho and lightquilted liner. You could cuddle with a buddy for warmth. When MRE's (combat rations)were issued you went through it and only took the items you eat. No needin carrying something I will throw away.
