Great thoughts on the Aux Fuel tank idea. I want a portable solution as opposedto a permanent installation. I am going to take your suggestion and investigatemarine fuel tanks (red hold 6-10 gallons). I want to also look into an electricalfuel pump squeezing the fuel bulb to pump that much gas up to my mainwould be a lot of effort. As for the envelope I hear what you are saying on the envelope although Pietsare basically the same they are all individually different given wheel configuration, engine choices, etc.I need to do more research to learn how to create the envelope I do think I havethe data.--------Jim McWhorterN687MB (New Owner)Culpeper, VA KCJRRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Mr Sam (N687MB) - Scott Tail Wheel

Update on the tail wheel... pulled one link out of the chain between the thimbleand the spring. Brought the wheel in to perfect alignment. This temporary ... I am going to replace the chain links (looks like somethingyou would buy at Ace Hardware) with turnbuckles. That way I can adjust both sidesand then safety wire them into place.--------Jim McWhorterN687MB (New Owner)Culpeper, VA KCJRRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

Thanks, Ben. I think I will just call ACS and see what they recommend for my setup. And thanks for the help with the oil pressure. I will have it all solvedtoday, I hope!Ray Krause Sent from my iPad> On Oct 10, 2013, at 10:58 AM, Ben Charvet wrote:> > > Its been a few years, but I ordered my tach cable from ACS. I also ordered theright angle drive to simplify installation. The right angle drive enablesyou to use a clockwise or counter-clockwise tachometer. I bought one with a builtin recording hour meter. For oil pressure it would probably be best to usea mechanical gauge, which involves running a simple tube from the engine tothe gauge. I used automotive oil pressure and temp gauges and they don't useany electricity.> > Ben Charvet> NX866BC> 189 hours after the flight this morning> >> On 10/10/2013 11:49 AM, Ray Krause wrote:>> >> Does any one have a good tach cable for the A-65, probably about 4' long? Does the oil pressure sensor somehow send a microvoltage? Maybe I should just get a recording tach! Oscar's mention of the newsletter reminded me to change my address with Doc AndHoff.2400 South 14th St, West Des Moines, IA. We love the house and acreage althoughthe move is horrible. Moving the fuselage and wings this morning. Will have about3 thousand square foot shop in the lower level and about a 300 foot driveto mess with the Piet. Quite a change from the old family room. Will post someshots when I get caught up.Sent from my iPadJack Textor________________________________________________________________________________Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Mr Sam (N687MB) - Scott Tail Wheel

Thanks Randy. That really boosts my confidence in the single arm tail wheel!--------Jim McWhorterN687MB (New Owner)Culpeper, VA KCJRRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: A-65 tachometer cable

Jack,I bought one of these right angle drives for my A-65. Where the engine cablescomes in to it, there is a barrel with the cable receiving threads on one sideand a threaded cap on the other. It can be rotation reversed by swapping thethreaded cap and cable receiving threads. It flops the gearing around so itspins the other way. A look at Aircraft Spruce's web page may make it a bit clearerto understand.http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/i ... -----David GallagherZodiac 601 XL-B: flying, 250+ hours nowNext project under construction: Finish my father's AircamperRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________
