Hi guys, I'm running into a problem with my center section steel fittings. The plans show the control cable pulley housing bolt to go right where the compression strut is on the other side. So I decided to lengthen the pulley housing and swing it over onto the spar fitting and bolt it along with the AN4 bolt there. Well that makes the pulley bolt hit the spar fitting....Know what I mean? What did everybody do there?ThanksCharles Burkholder________________________________________________________________________________Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Trim tab set-up

BrianAs best as I recall, the tab is approx. 6"x4" riveted to piano hinge and screwedto elavator with stainless screws controlled by a simple push/pull cable. Brokeoff the plastic knob and threaded the swagged end for 10/32. Used a turnbucklefor adjustment with an aluminum knob press fitted over the barrel.Precise adjustment with no drift.Hope this helps--------Adrian MWinnipeg, MBCanadaRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ttachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/imag ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Center section Fitting

Hi Charles,Good to hear you're progressing. I recall a discussion about this from a few yearsago. One solution is to use a Tee-nut at the location where the compressionstrut lands. See the photo of Jim Markle's installation here:http://www.westcoastpiet.com/images/Jim ... AA.JPGI've also attached a copy of the photo with the area in question circled. You can get tee-nuts at Home Depot.Hope that helps.Bill C.Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ttachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/tee_ ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Too Cold!

John; your T88 bottles look sort of like mine, but I think I have you beat allof the label writing is gone from mine. I guess I need to get some new stuff, but I hate to throw out perfectly good epoxy. It seems to bond as good as italways did. Also, I can attest to the microwave trick being very effective ingetting it to flow. However, take care not to over-beep the clear stuff itgets runny very easily and that makes it very difficult to proportion if you doit by eye, like I do.--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 powerRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

That's what I did also. I asked the same question when I was doing my center section about 5 years ago and had a number of replies from builders who also said they just notched the compression strut.Sent from my iPadRick SchreiberIn snowy, subzero, Valparaiso IndianaOn Jan 22, 2014, at 7:52 PM, "Chris" wrote:> I cut a notch in the compression fitting for the bolt head.> > > Chris T.> Sacramento, Ca> Westcoastpiet.com> > >
