I thought I would list some interesting statistics about this list (not necessarilyabout the Piet Forum, but the entire Matronics Pietenpol Air Camper list).Matt has provided some useful tools in the search engine as well as in theForum tools. So here goes.1. The Piet list has by far the most total posts of any of the Matronics lists...currently 48,333 posts since its inception in November 2005. The email liststatistics show 64,152 posts to our list but the high poster, Matt Dralle, whois the list admin, accounts for 15,819 of those and most of them are housekeepingand notification messages, not on-topic to the list.2. This list shows a total number of members at 5,637... give or take the listadmin ;o)3. 51% of the list members have either never posted at all to the list (39%) orhave only made one post since joining... probably a "hi, everyone..." intro. We truly have a silent majority here, and a LOT of lurkers, but many of them joinedas far back as 10 years ago.4. Not counting Matt, the top 13 posters to this list are responsible for fullyhalf the posts ever made here. The odd thing to me is that of those top 13 posters,I only recognize the handles of two or three.5. I knew I spent a lot of time at the keyboard, but I was surprised to find thatI am #8 on the list with 1,395 posts. However, the top poster is John Hauckwith 4,252 posts... 3 times as many as I've put up here. I vaguely recognizeJohn Hauck's name, if he's the guy who built and flew the heck out of a coupleof Kolbs... all over the country, cross-country, up to Alaska (I think), toOSH, everywhere. No idea where he is now.6. Considering that the current statistical number of pilots in the U.S. is about600,000 (all types, including student, recreational, private, ATP, commercial, and sport), that means that about 1 in 100 U.S. pilots is on this list, onaverage. That's really not a bad showing.--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 power, 72x36 Culver propRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Re: Pietenpol-List Digest: 5 Msgs - 07/31/16
