Yes, my Pietenpol had a Corvair engine and the pilot dead sticked it due toloss of power. It was his own fault and not the engines. Witnesses saidhis engine was icing up before he took off and it got worse every triparound the pattern. I had the engine running and it was super but I thinkcar engines belong on cars so I sold the Corvair with a new Hegy Prop andbought a Continental A-65. It cost a little more but it's your butt upthere. Oh, I had the crank and case reworked and put a new cam shaft inthe engine and still had to dead stick that one because I used old Eisemanmags that went bad. I have new Slicks now and about 30 hours with noproblem. If you do go with the Corvair, call me if when you get ready to sell. Theplane, not the motor. Good luck.Copinfo(at)ix.Netcom.ComTim CunninghamDes Moines, Iowa (515) 237-1510________________________________________________________________________________
