Really getting into the wings and wondering,,,from the guys who arealready flying. The center section cutout......should I ?It's hard to picture a Piet( cause I've never seen one for real). If Ileave the wing center complete, will it be hard to get into? If do thecut out will the visibility be worth it? Can't decide. If you flyers had to do it over again,,,with all you've seen,,,,howwould you build the center section " on your next one"?waltReally getting into the wings andwondering,,,from the guys who are already flying. Yes, I would cut out the center wing more to make it easier to get inand out of the cockpit. I'd raise the cabanes a few more inches too forthe poor passengers. Although I really enjoy watching folks try to getin. One guy almost wrecked my plane before he just gave up. Walter, with what I know now, and having gotten in and out of thecockpit a few times (with the fabric off), I would look at an alternateto the solid centre section. I may yet modify the back edge to at leastallow the centre piece aft of the rear spar to swing up. I alsoincreased the height of the cabanes and at 6 feet and 200 ponds it istight and awkward to get in and out. The modification will likely be awinter's project. The alternate is to do the cut out that would helpvisibility above, and maybe a bit ahead.Hope this helps! I too have not flown in one or seen a Piet in theflesh. ----- Original Message -----

x-mac-creator="4D4F5353"Tim,If I had it to do over I would have made a one piece wing with no cutout. Put an extra 3 inches on the vert. struts. I'm 5ft 7" 160 and don'thave a problem. Read somewhere that the cut out reduces liftsignificantly??Craig________________________________________________________________________________

Without the cutout it is very hard to get in and out of the plane.John Langston writes:>Really getting into the wings and wondering,,,from the guys who are >already flying.
