A further proof of the problems with casein glue, is that early examples ofthe Fokker DR1 (triplane) failed with frightening regularity. The cause wasdiscovered to be failure of the wing spars due to poor adhesive quality andapplication. (They were a built up single box spar, one per wing). Oncemoisture was added to the equation, the result was yet another fatality, with no cost to the opposing side!Dominic Excell(Piet in dreaming stage!)
