Mark,I believe the important thing about the L/G attach fittings is that they end up mounted on the lower longeron centered at the same location as a verticalor diagonal upright, this is also important for the lift strut attach points. This is why J Grega had to put an extra bay in his fuselage sides when he wantedto use an actual Cub L/G that had a different center to center distance than aPiet L/G. You can always tell a GN1, or anybody who used a Cub L/G because therear lift strut and rear L/G do not hit the lower longeron at the same location. So assuming your fuselage sides are already built, the distance between the L/Gfittings is set.Hope this helps.Skip, still working on my shop so I can continue work on my L/G in Atlanta----- --- Cinda + Skip Gadd--- csfog(at)earthlink.net --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.________________________________________________________________________________Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Propellers

05/01/2001 10:13:05 AMMike,Thanks for posting an alternate address for that information. I couldn'tget into the one Mike Bell posted, I think because there wasn't enough space onmyNetscape's address line to copy the whole thing.Mike B., thanks for posing the original address! BTW, I have been perusingthecopy of the BPA newsletters that you sent & I've noticed that issues #34(4th quarter 1991) & issue # 38 (4th quarter 1992) are missing. Do theyexist?I'd hate to miss any of the information in these newsletters, the rest oftheset is fantastic! Along with this list, it's going to be a MAJOR resourcewhen Iget my project started.Cheers!Kip Gardner________________________________________________________________________________

Subject: Pietenpol-List: PropellersI am using a Model A, so I am going to have to have a prop made, but foryou guys using aircraft engines or the Corvair, wouldn't it be simple tosolve the prop question by using one of the ground adjustable (Ivoprop?) propellers. Dick: I built a 3 piece wing and I spent more timebuilding the center section ( especially if I factor in the building ofthe fiberglass fuel tank ) then the 2 wing panels. Ken Perkins has a onepiece wing. After a forced landing he had to take the wing off totransport the airplane home and really regretted the one piece wing-atleast at that time. another good reason for the 3piece.
