Subject: Pietenpol-List: Price drawings"could anyone with the Price 3 piece wing, gapless aileron, frontcockpit door on a flying Piet please comment on......." Jake, I boughtall of the Price drawings and have built his fiberglass tank, gaplesspiano hinge aileron, and front cockpit door, but am still building notflying so I cant comment. I didn't build her..(him at the time) 3 piecewing because the Western Ac sup. wood kit I bought was set up for the ViKapler 3 piece wing so I went that route. I went for the simpler leafspring tail wheel because it was easy and fast. The main reason I didthe cockpit door was because I was building in my basement at the time.I could only build things up to a size that I could get up the stairsand around a corner. I could flex the fus. sides around the corner so Ibuilt them, but could nerver get a built fuselage out so buildingstalled. During a stalled construction period I added the door to theright side mostly for something to do. Afterward I regretted adding theweight because I am going to use the Ford A. At 40hp there probablynever, or rarely have anyone in the front pit, so that convenience waswasted. Since then I have decided to re do my engine--insert bearings,Model B cam etc. for more HP. I may then have the power to haulpassengers after all, and the door will be real handy. Stay tuned.
