I'm using an electrical tach running off one mag. Tony Bingelis says it's okay as long as you install a fuse (can't remember the size) in line so that if the instrument should ever short out, it couldn't affect your mag.I'm running a Ford with two mags, and there is no observable difference in rpms between one mag and both.
