Jeff,=C2-I am assuming that you have the tailwheel skid as part of your plans? I think most of us are just =98winging=99 it from there! If you check out www.westcoastpiet.com, you will see all sorts of stuff. I attached a few pics.=C2-Gary Boothe Cool, Ca. Pietenpol-List: gunk on prop

Hey,I think I figured out what the gunk on that prop is, though it's kindagross. I'm convinced it is decades of accumulation of cigarette smoke tar.I'll bet this thing hung in a bar or restaurant.I hit it with a heat gun and it softened into a gummy consistency, allowingme to easily scrape it off with a plastic scraper. It then instantlyhardens back to a plastic-like material. I thought it might have beencosmoline, but I can tell by the smell and the way it rehardens that itisn't. It smells like cigarettes. After I scrape off as much as possible, I'll try some of the solventsrecommended, starting with mineral spirits.ThanksDouwe________________________________________________________________________________Date: Mon, 9 Aug 2010 05:49:14 -0700 (PDT)
