Paul,The FAA does NOT issue an NX number. They only issue a straight N number. TheX can be put on the airplane to eliminate the Words Experimental provided thatthe plane is more than 30 years old or is a replica of an aircraft more than30 years old. The Piet is covered by both accounts. None of the aircraft registrationwill indicate the X you are talking about. All paper work will onlyshow the N number. I am at work and don't have my FAR book with me so I cannotquote which reg it is.
